Veterinary Specialists of Rochester and Animal Emergency Service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our board certified specialists see patients by appointment Monday through Saturday 7am-6pm.

Rochester is situated in Western, NY on the banks of Lake Ontario and approximately 30 minutes from the Fingerlakes region. Our facility is situated directly off the 390 expressway making access from Buffalo, Syracuse and the Southern tier very convenient.

Payment Options

We know large veterinary expenses are often unplanned. There are times when a substantial deposit and paying the bill in full are not possible. We are pleased to offer CareCredit, a convenient interest-free payment plan. We also accept all major credit cards. 

Staffing

The referral center is staffed with Board Certified Specialists in Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Surgery. The emergency service is staffed with experienced, internship-trained emergency doctors. The support staff includes a highly skilled group of NYS certified technicians, several of whom are certified in emergency/critical care, ophthalmology and anesthesia. Our dedicated Animal Care Assistants and Customer Service Representatives round out our exceptional staff.

Visiting Hours

We know that visiting your pet during their stay at Veterinary Specialists of Rochester is important. We have the following hours available: Monday-Friday 12pm-2pm and 5:30pm-8:30pm; Saturday 12pm-2pm. Please discuss additional time with your doctor. 

Facility

Veterinary Specialists of Rochester is a state of the art 14,000 square foot facility. The facility includes three surgical suites, an intensive care unit, an ultrasound room, an endoscopy room, an I-131 radiation facility, an in-house full-service laboratory and a chemotherapy center. We are equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring, diagnostic and treatment modalities. We also have access to advanced diagnostic imaging.

Veterinary Specialty Practice Alliance

Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services is a proud member of VSPA. The Veterinary Specialty Practice Alliance (VSPA), established in 1999, is a not-for-profit association representing approximately 20 veterinary specialty clinics working in private practice throughout the United States. Membership includes owners, administrators and doctors of these facilities. The VSPA is a collective voice for issues related to specialty veterinary medicine that includes the sharing of best practices related to hospital management and patient care. The purpose of this alliance is to be leaders in and advance the delivery of specialty veterinary services. We are a defined membership of veterinary specialty hospitals where members actively participate in creating benchmarks and tools through communication and collaboration. We focus on educating pet owners about specialty veterinary medicine and promoting the benefits of referral to primary care practitioners.
